yan Donatoa€™s brief time in Providence did not magically yield the perfect 200-foot player. In the Bruinsa€™ 4-2 loss to Detroit on Saturday, he did have a hand in the Red Wingsa€™ tying goal in the second period, getting checked off the puck along the wall.

But progress, it certainly seems, was made in his 10 games down on the farm. In his first game back up with the big club against the Islanders on Thursday, he did just about everything as the Ba€™s grinded their way to a 1-1 tie then won the shootout on Donatoa€™s pretty deke.

And while he didna€™t have as clean a game against the Red Wings, he put the Ba€™s in good position to grab at least a point when he tied it up in the third on the power play.

The progress must continue for Donato, whoa€™s still looking for his first even-strength NHL goal of the season.
