Panthers forward Nick Bjugstad has long been in trade speculation but nothing has come to fruition.A  Even though his name has popped up in the rumor mill once again as of late, his agent Ben Hankinson told Michael Russo of The Athletic during an interview on KFAN (audio link) that ita€™s unlikely that his client winds up being dealt:

a€œIa€™m pretty close with their GM, Dale Tallon, whoa€™s a big Nick Bjugstad fan. Even the last couple of years hasna€™t been, numbers-wise, as productive for him so there was a lot of talk. A couple of years ago too. And ita€™s the same teams: Montreal, Pittsburgh was looking, the Wild have always been in the mix. So every time I go to Dale, he says, a€˜Not a chance, Hank. Therea€™s not a chance wea€™re trading him. I love him.a€™a€

The 25-year-old adapted well to being shifted to the wing with Florida and posted a career year offensively with 49 points (19-30-49) in 82 games.A  However, given Bjugstada€™s size and ability to play down the middle, the Panthers are assuredly going to continue to field interest in him but it doesna€™t appear that theya€™re willing to deal him just yet.
