As an outsider coming in, newly acquired forward Freddie Hamilton can see the potential of this Coyotes team.

Hamilton " whom the Coyotes claimed off waivers from the Calgary Flames on Thursday " says that although they boast the worst record in the league at 10-27-5 entering play on Saturday, hes excited to join a team with so much youth and potential.

You come in here and see how talented this team is and how good theyre going to be in the future, Hamilton said. Ill just do what I can to try and be a part of that. Ill just try to fit in where I can and try to come in and work hard. Ill try to make a good first impression and try to do the little things to help the team.

A roster filled with rookies and several players still unable to order an adult beverage, the Coyotes boast an immense level of young talent that Hamilton says has the league on watch.

The teams newest forward got his first close-up view at Fridays practice.

Very high-skilled, Hamilton said of his teammates. Really young and tons of potential All the teams around the league are saying how good theyre going to be. So it was fun to see it out there (in practice).

Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet said he isnt sure exactly where Hamilton is going to slot into the lineup, but hes excited to get to know him as a player and see what he can do with a fresh start.
